More Information

From an early age, Dale Crawford wanted to be an artist. Growing up in the 1950s influenced his other great love in life, the lore of the Old West. After art school, Crawford worked at ad agencies and art studios in Wisconsin. But in 1973, the desire to head west was too much. The Crawford family loaded the car and headed for Colorado, where they still live today. Over the last 30 plus years Dale has provided illustrations for more than 30 books and numerous magazine articles with a western theme. His latest two illustration efforts are for the books, STRANGE BUT TRUE COLORADO and STRANGE BUT TRUE AMERICA. He was lucky enough to be able to work closely with the local author, John Hafnor. Dale is married to Fran, and has one daughter and two wonderful grandchildren. He now spends his time painting and drawing the west for art shows and galleries. To see more of Dale's artwork not connected to egg painting you may visit the Centennial Gallery in downtown Fort Collins, Colorado. He also has a reputation for drawing caricatures at high school after prom parties, picnics, company functions and birthday parties all across northern Colorado. As you may have noticed by his egg entry this past year (2011), he applies a lot of humor into his art where ever he can. Life is good!
